Obituary

M. Zermain Breidenbaugh, Ph.D. (Zee) of Havre de Grace died Wednesday, June 22 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. She was 79. Born in Laurel, MD she was the daughter of the late Oris and Garland (Wilson) Grim, Sr. and wife of the late Chris Breidenbaugh who died in 2006. She is survived by her brother Oris Grim, Jr. and his wife Shirley Anne of Florida and her two sons, Michael A. Breidenbaugh and wife Peggy of Aberdeen and Chris P. Breidenbaugh and wife Trish of East Earl, PA and granddaughter, Katie Breidenbaugh. The devoted wife to Chris, proud mother of her two sons, and even prouder grandmother of her granddaughter, Katie, Zee always put family first and for that we cannot thank her enough and will keep her legacy of love, faith and kindness alive in each of us. She worked for thirty years in Government civilian service, first with the Ordnance School at APG then with the Department of the Navy and finally with the Department of Social Security. During this time, she achieved her Ph.D., allowing her to pursue her private practice in psychology. While her feet touched all 7 continents, her heart, hands and head touched thousands of lives. From her summers at Shepherd's Spring Camp, to her ministry work in the Dominican Republic, to hosting teams from home and abroad for the Cal Ripken World Series in youth baseball to the many she helped through the Crisis Network, including survivors from the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack in New York, Zee offered her heart and soul as well as her home to help so many. She was a friend to so many from her years with the Harford Ski Club, the Sweet Adelines Upper Chesapeake Choir, her local golfing group and her many years involved in the Long Green Valley Church of the Brethren and her more recent years involved in the Hopewell United Methodist Church, she was so well known you only needed the one letter – Z – and everyone knew who you were talking about. She was a mentor to some, an acquaintance to many, but always a friend to all who knew her. A visitation will be held at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home on Sunday, June 26 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm where a funeral service will be held on Monday, June 27 at 11:00am. Interment will be in Bel Air Memorial Gardens. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Triangle Therapeutic Riding Center 30 Martin Dr., Reinholds, PA 17569. Dear Family, My heart is full of tears for the loss of such a wonderful woman. She left footprints on my heart and I am better for knowing her. She was a beloved member of Upper Chesapeake Chorus for many years, and I had the privilege of singing in a barbershop Quartet with her. A small group of UCC members would love to honor her in song at the viewing or service. Those of us that knew her loved her so! Feel free to contact me. Much love!

Zee was a wonderful woman whose smile and laugh could light up a room. She will always be treasured in my life. My thoughts are with her family as her passing will leave quite a void in their lives. Sing with the angels, Zee.
