John E. Alston

Mr. John E. Alston passed away on August 18, 2016 at the age of 80. Mr. Alston is survived by his sister, Minnie Alston, son, David (Linda) Alston, daughter, Peggie Hale, grandchildren Kyle Hale, Shane Hale, Matthew Alston, Justin Alston and many step-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Riley Alston, mother Ruth Shrum Alston, wife Anne N. Alston, wife Agnes "Aggie" Alston, and wife Gladys Marie Alston. Mr. Alston was born on August 15, 1936 in Mena, Arkansas to his parents, Riley and Ruth Alston. After graduating high school, Mr. Alston went on to 24 years of military service in the US Army. His post-retirement career included cab driving, mechanical instruction, testing engineer, night guard, and small engine repair. A chapel service is scheduled for August 25 at 2 pm at Harford Memorial Gardens. Pastor Dan Sheffield will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mr. Alston's life.
