Royce was the last of a generation in our family. He was the cousin of my mother Rachel Wursthorn Miner and she thought the world of Royce. He was a true gentleman and dedicated family man. I am happy to have been able to get to know him and will miss his wonderfully hand written Christmas cards.

Laurie and Mark, We were saddened to hear of the loss of your father, my cousin. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I still remember earliest memories of him visiting my great grandparents, his grandparents in Lowell. As soon as he would see me he would catch me and throw me up into the air. I couldn't have been more than three or four.

Dear Laurie and Mark, When your Dad lived with Grandma and Grandpa, he would occasionally work at the farm. It was there that I learned he was kind and considerate. When I was five or six years old he made me a swing with notches cut from both ends of a board to form a seat. Through the notches he strung a rope and tied the two ends to a limb on the maple tree out front of the house. I liked that swing and can picture it perfectly today after the passage of 70 years. It meant a lot to me. As I grew older, I realized your Dad showed us how to overcome hardships. Your Dad was born on the eve of the Great Depression and his father died of TB when he was five years old. Through determination and hard work your Dad overcame these early hardships to attain a productive, fulfilled, and interesting life. You must be proud of him. With sympathy, Peter
