Robert Carl Zeigler

Robert Carl Zeigler of Aberdeen died in his home Thursday, October 27th. He was 86 years old. Born in Shamokin, PA he was the son of the late Warren & Sadie Mae (Harper) Zeigler. Mr. Zeigler retired from the Aberdeen Proving Ground Ballistic Research Laboratories after 37 years of service and served in the Naval Reserve and then the Army during the Korean War. He was a 50 year member and senior past Commander of Joseph L. Davis Post 47 in Havre de Grace where he loyally served in numerous capacities including Chaplain, the executive committee, wharf committee, fish fry committee and even serving breakfast on many Sunday mornings. Mr. Zeigler was also a member of the Elks Lodge in Havre de Grace. Mr. Zeigler loved God, his country, his family, his buddies at the Legion and was an avid fisherman and crabber. He is survived by his wife, Providencia "Provi" Zeigler; sons, Robert L. Zeigler of Kathleen, FL, Ronald J. Zeigler of Aberdeen and Timothy P. Zeigler of North East; daughters, Marilyn Z. Blevins of Millers Creek, NC and Rosie Z. Summers of N. Wilkesboro, NC; brothers, Charles Zeigler of Aberdeen and Elmer Zeigler of Churchville, his sister Warrene Conbeer of Shamokin, PA. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 28 great- grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers, Jimmy and Leroy Zeigler; infant sister, Lilly Mae Zeigler and great grandson, Logan T. Perry. A visitation will be held at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home on Monday, October 31 from 6-8pm. A second visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 1st from 10am-12pm with a service following.
