Obituary

Thomas William Brackins, a cherished father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, at the age of 54. Born on December 13, 1970, in Havre de Grace, MD, to William Carron Brackins, Jr. and Sue Olivene Wiles, Thomas lived a life marked by joy, laughter, and an unwavering love for his family and friends.

A dedicated worker, Thomas spent many years as a roofer and a machine operator and grinder for Dunlop Protective Footwear USA. His commitment to excellence and strong work ethic were evident to all who worked alongside him.

Thomas's passion for music knew no bounds. An avid fan of the Rolling Stones and the Beatles, he could often be found singing his heart out during karaoke nights, much to the delight of everyone around him. His love for the outdoors was just as strong; hunting and fishing were not just hobbies but a way of life for him. He cherished these moments not only for the sport but for the tranquility and connection to nature they provided.

A loyal football fan, game days were sacred to Thomas. They were occasions for gathering with loved ones, sharing in the highs and lows of each play, and reveling in the camaraderie that only sports can bring.

Thomas was the embodiment of joy, always ready with a joke or a funny story to lighten the hearts of those around him. His friendly demeanor made him a beloved figure in his community, and his loving nature was the glue that held his family together. He was a source of strength and comfort, and his legacy will live on through the lives he touched.

He is survived by his loving mother, Sue Olivene Wiles; his adoring daughters, Taylor Brackins and Sarah Brackins; his cherished grandchildren, Layanna and Laniya; and his sister, Krystal Brackins Martin and his loving companion Tonya Kiesel. He was preceded in death by his father, William Carron Brackins, Jr., and his sister, Sheri Corey. Thomas also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Thomas's life was a testament to the power of a positive spirit and the warmth of a kind heart. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we celebrate the memories he created, the laughter he sparked, and the love he shared. His presence will be deeply missed, but the impact of his life will continue to inspire all who knew him. Rest in peace, Thomas William Brackins; your light will shine on in the hearts of your loved ones forever.

Sending love and prayers to his mother, Sue, and all of his family and friends. During his illness, he remained positive and fought a good fight, never giving up. To his mother, you were his Angel, being by his side and never leaving him. Spending hours in the chapel and praying. Though on a ventilator, he knew his mother was always with him. Praying for strength for you during this time and all of the days that follow.πŸ™πŸ™

Tommy, you will always have a place in my heart. I have many special memories of you. A lot of those on the farm. One time when you were very young, uncle Jim carried you on his shoulders from the farm to Campus HIlls. We had these big toy Santa clause boots that you stepped into. They came clear up past your knees. We also had a huge pumpkin that you and your cousin Denny both sat on together and fit. We were surrounded by woods and you and Denny would tease each other about Big Foot being out there, when the cows were mooing. As you were older you showed what an excellent job you did with roofing. You had a great talent steaming crabs. To my surprise ,one of your favorite television channels was T V Land. Gunsmoke and Andy Griffith show. The last time I saw you,was about a year ago. We ran into each other at Home Depot. You hugged me and said " I Love You Aunt Dottie " I said " I Love You too Tommy".You will be missed and thought of fondly forever. Love you always.
