Obituary
Gary Van Wert left his physical body on January 17, 2017 in peace at home, with his daughter by his side. He was preceded in death by: his beloved Mother, Freida Peck in 2016, his Father, Melvin Van Wert in 1974, and his brother, Eddie Capan in 1957. He is survived by: his brother, Bruce (Karen) Capan, his daughter, Cary Davis, and his Grandchildren, whom he adored: Michaela, Mylynne and Gideon, and his lifelong friend and confidant, Roger Lyons.
Gary was honorably discharged from the National Guard, worked on APG for many years, and then began work at The Naval Academy in Annapolis as a welder. He retired as Head of Maintenance after many years of accredited employment.
He was an avid hunter, but his true love was crabbing in the Chester River on the Eastern Shore.

Heaven just got another angel. Guess they had a special project for some subject matter experts and needed both Gary & Russell working together. Keep in mind that Gary left behind a treasure chest filled with special memories that we can all cherish forever. While his physical presence may have been taken from us, we all know he will never be forgotten. His candle burned out long before his memory ever will. With deepest sympathy,
