Obituary
Jean F. Sanner, known affectionately as Jean to her friends and family, departed this world on July 24, 2025, at her home in Aberdeen, MD, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and an unwavering spirit of generosity. Born on March 3, 1942, in Shamokin, PA, Jean's infectious smile and kind-hearted nature were evident from a young age.
A proud 1961 graduate of Havre de Grace High School, Jean's diligent work ethic and commitment to excellence were hallmarks of her character. Her career at the Chrysler Corporation in auto assembly spanned many years, and her dedication to the job was matched only by her dedication to her colleagues and the friendships she forged along the way.
Jean was a devout Christian, finding strength and solace in her faith. She was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church in Aberdeen, where her presence was a source of joy and comfort to all who knew her. Her unwavering faith guided her through life's trials and triumphs, and she was an inspiration to many in her church community.
Beyond her work and religious commitments, Jean's passions were varied and vibrant. A huge Elvis fan, she made numerous trips to Graceland, each visit reaffirming her admiration for the King of Rock 'n' Roll. Her membership at the Aberdeen Moose Lodge, until its closing, allowed her to engage with her community and form lasting bonds with fellow members. Jean's love for cooking was well known, and her kitchen was often the heart of gatherings, filled with the aroma of delicious meals and the sound of her unusual and contagious laughter.
Family was the cornerstone of Jean's life. She is survived by her loving brothers, Russell E. Ebright and his wife Jenett, and Frank W. Ebright. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Gerald R. Sanner, who passed away in 2020, her brothers Henry R. Ebright and Robert C. Ebright, and her sisters Dawn Crespi and Patricia A. Smith. Jean's role as a cherished aunt to her many nieces and nephews was one she embraced with enthusiasm and love. Her most recent canine companion, Gerrylee, was a testament to her enduring love for dogs and her selfless nature.
Jean's legacy is one of selflessness, interest in others, and a sense of humor that brightened the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her ability to find joy in the simple things, to laugh freely, and to give of herself without expecting anything in return, are the qualities that defined her. Jean's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the impact one person can make in the lives of many.
