Thomas Joseph McLaughlin

Thomas Joseph McLaughlin died on June 8, 2017 at Hart Heritage Assisted Living facility after a short illness. Tom was born on July 11, 1942 in Pittston, PA to the late Joseph John McLaughlin and the late Anne Marie (Watson) McLaughlin. He graduated from Aberdeen High School. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University and Baltimore Law School. He worked at the University of Maryland as the Director of Procurement prior to working as an Attorney in Bel Air, MD. Tom enjoyed politics and working with the Town of Aberdeen on various projects. He also helped to start a girls program for basketball and soccer in Parks and Recreation so his daughters could also play sports. He loved spending time with his grandchildren while they were little and enjoyed watching them compete in various sports and taking them to the Diner for treats. Tom was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Elizabeth (Malone) McLaughlin along with his parents. He is survived by his daughters, Susan Sampson, and her husband Robert of Aberdeen, and Patty McLaughlin and her wife Lynn Elliot of Catonsville. His sister and Brothers JoAnne McLaughlin of Wisconsin, Lawrence McLaughlin of Virginia and Joseph McLaughlin of Edgewood. And his beloved grandchildren Kasey Beaver, Kelsey Sampson, Kory Sampson and Catherine McLaughlin, also his Great Grandson Joseph Privett, III. A Visitation will be held on Monday, June 12, 2017 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home, 333 South Parke Street, Aberdeen, a service will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 10:00am by Pastor Nathaniel Johnson.
