My Dad is one of the strongest people that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He was extraordinary and definitely did not fit the mold of the average Dad but in a good way. He was a great Dad, friend, husband, and grandfather. He had so many people that loved him and I can absolutely see why. There are no words to express his influence on my life or his influence on those around him. He would give you the shirt off of his back, help with anything that he could, he was kind and he would make you laugh til your cheeks hurt. When I think of my Dad - I think of a person that I loved deeply but also a person that seriously drove me crazy most of the time. He was such a stubborn soul that loved his sweets. He loved messing with me and would hide them or eat them when I wasnt looking. I would catch him and he thought that was the funniest thing ever. There are so many fond memories but I will keep this short. One of my childhood memories that still stands out was the time that I asked for a goat (Timmy and I were so spoiled). He said no, I told him that I was going to Nanny and Poppops because they would let me. Poppop starts yelling for my Dad and says, Donald Franklin, get in the truck because we are going to the farm and getting this girl a goat. We came home with a goat but goat ownership didn’t last long because it head butted Timmy, ate the screen door off of the house and jumped on the kitchen table and ate our dinner. Needless to say, Billy went back to the farm. I will always remember sharing cotton candy at Enchanted Forest and curling up on his chest in his recliner to watch Sanford and Son and the Jeffersons. The countless times that I would hop in the truck and went on tows. Lastly, the auctions that Kenny Travers would have in Aberdeen. I still remember the haze of cigarette smoke and the excitement when I got something that I wanted. He wouldn’t stop bidding til he won. The memories will last a lifetime and for that I am truly grateful. Dad, I love you and I wish that I had more time with you because 48 years wasn’t long enough! Love, Tammy 🩷

I had known Don since school days. He was always a cut above the rest. I'll never forget him and his dad coming into Hinder Ford parts department and updating the tow trucks in the 70's . Don, you will be missed by so many.
