Obituary

On October 3, 2025, the world lost a bright light with the passing of Deborah Lynn Asbury, who was born on December 25, 1978, in Havre de Grace, Maryland, to Diana J. Asbury and the late Carl W. Asbury. Deborah, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, touched the lives of many with her warmth, love, and unwavering spirit.

Deborah had a passion for literature, finding joy in the pages of her favorite books, particularly the Twilight series, which ignited her imagination and sense of adventure. An avid reader, she cherished the stories that transported her to fantastical worlds. Her love for cats was a testament to her gentle soul; she often found companionship and comfort in their purring presence.

Deborah is survived by her loving mother, Diana Asbury, her sister, Diana Ranieri, and her adoring children, Hailey Kiel and Christopher Contreras, cherished niece Julia McKenzie and great-niece Zuri McKenzie. Each of them carries a piece of her legacy in their hearts.

Family and friends are invited to come together in celebration of Deborah's life. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home, P.A., located at 333 South Parke Street, Aberdeen, MD 21001. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be conducted at 7 P.M., with officiants honoring Deborah’s spirit and the love she shared.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 676910, Dallas, TX 75267-6910, to support the fight against breast cancer.
