Obituary

Margaret “Peggy” L. Armstrong, RN, of Aberdeen, Maryland, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of December 2, 2025.

Peggy spent 50 years caring for others through her work as a nurse—first at Church Home Hospital in Baltimore for 25 years, and then for another 25 years at Citizens Care in Havre de Grace. She was deeply committed to her patients and touched many lives, both through her compassionate care and her mentorship of younger nurses.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Hattie Witteck, her father, Wilson Armstrong, and sister Elizabeth (Betty) Armstrong Ragano.

Peggy is survived by and was greatly loved by her niece Christina Wilson (Jack), her nephews Joseph Ragano (Marcie), David Ragano (Linda), John Ragano (Stefanie) and her 10 Great Nieces and Nephews who lovingly referred to her as GAP (Great Aunt Peg).

Peggy was my Nursing supervisor in 1971, and from that point on she became my mentor both in my professional and private life, with all the great qualities that an exceptional leader has and lead by example. In the last three years I had become very close to Peggy and often visited her and took short trips to lunch, appointments and or shopping, etc. I loved to listen to her as she was a caring, loving, true friend and well-organized person up to her passing. She will continue to live on in my heart and mind, and I will miss her beyond words. RIP Peggy she will always have a special place in my heart. love you Pat Palmere-Nason
