Edward Matty

Edward Matty, age 88, of Aberdeen, MD, died on October 5, 2018 at home. Born in Mont Clare, PA he was the son of Andrew (Matyi) Matty and Anna Sotak Matty. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he had worked at Valley Forge Hospital, PA, Kirk Army Hospital, APG and Walter Reed in Washington DC. After retirement he volunteered for 15 years at Halls Cross Roads Elementary School in Aberdeen, MD. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Isabelle (Magyar) Matty; daughters, Anna Marie Matty Bradley and Mary Jo Matty and her husband George Staples; grandchildren, James J. DeHaven, Jennifer DeHaven, Heather Hogge and her husband Scott, Tia Geddie and her husband Patrick, Nick Staples and Karla Staples; six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 13, 2018 from 4-7pm with a service at 4:30pm in the Fellowship Hall of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Aberdeen, MD.
