Obituary

Martha Richmond Dreisbach passed away peacefully at her home in Aberdeen, MD, 1O December 2025.

She was born Martha Richmond Glass to William and Lois Glass in Sparrows Point, Maryland. As a child, she resided at Bethlehem Steel and graduated from Samual Ready School For Girls and attended Strayer University. She applied for a government position and shortly after took a Civil Service assignment in Stuttgart, Germany. After a 6-year tour in Germany and upon her return to the states, she worked with Marine Corps Recruiting at 29 Palms, California and then Fort Holabird, Maryland where she met her husband Farrell. Farrell and Martha were married at Fort Holabird in 1969 and enjoyed a 56-year marriage together.

After his release from military Active Duty, Farrell and Martha both took government positions at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. Martha continued her federal career with the Ordnance Center and School and then transferred to an Administrative position with the Garrison Troop Commander. As the only civilian in the organization, Martha was loved by the Command group and she loved working atAPG especially with the military. Martha completed a 41-year Federal career, received many awards and decorations, and retired in 1993. During her working years, Martha found time to sew many of her own clothes and raise two litters of pure-bred miniature poodles. After retirement, Martha served as assistant to a travel agent in Aberdeen and helped arrange many trips in the states and Europe - Germany was always her favorite. Farrell and Martha loved to travel locally and collected and refinish antiques for their home in Aberdeen.

I will always remember you as my spunky Aunt, from your vibrant red hair to your fashionable outfits. I have always looked up to you for your independence and grace. I loved our Maryland visits and Farrell’s strict itineraries. I enjoyed the train rides into D.C. and eating Maryland crabs on the picnic table. I looked forward to our Thanksgiving gatherings every year, and I’m so grateful that our last visit was in good spirits and very special. I will miss you very much!!! Love, Kim
