Elizabeth Martha Jones-Freeman

Elizabeth Martha Jones-Freeman, went home to be with the Lord peacefully at Siani Hospital in Baltimore, MD on April 10, 2021, at the age of 84. Elizabeth was born on January 5, 1937, to Wiley and Bessie Privett in Wolf Pen, West Virginia. She grew up in Marion, VA and moved to Aberdeen, MD at the age of 18 to work at Bata Shoe Company. Elizabeth met her first husband, Eldredge Franklin Jones, while working at Bata. They married in 1956 and had four children: her son, Ken Jones (wife Peggy); daughter, Sandy Kegley (husband Mark); daughter, Fay Gordon (husband Julian) and son, James Jones (wife Marsha). After Frank's death in 1997 Elizabeth met and married Eli "Bud" Freeman. She was widowed the second time in 2011. Elizabeth loved her family. She was a homemaker. She love working outside in yard and playing games with her family. She served the Lord for over 50 years and was a loyal member of Gospel Baptist Tabernacle in Jarrettsville, MD. She also loved her church family. Elizabeth is survived by her four children and their spouses; her grandchildren; Amy, Kenny, Jr., Michael, Joey, Jessica, James, Jr., Alysha, Melissa, Justin, Dustin, Dylan, and Julianna; her step-grandchildren; Angel, Mark, Jr., Kevin, and Tiffany; and 39 great-grandchildren; her sister Margaret Atwood; and brother Johnny Privett. She is preceded in death by both husband’s, Frank and "Bud"; her parents, Wiley and Bessy Privett and daughter-in-law, Peggy Jones. Friends and the public are welcome to a celebration of life at Gospel Baptist Tabernacle, 3025 Sharon Road, Jarrettsville, MD 21084 on April 15, 2021 at 11:00 AM. The visitation will be at the church on Wednesday, April 14. 2021 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Harford Memorial Gardens. Flowers and condolences are welcome. Memorial contributions may be made to Gospel Baptist Tabernacle.
