Obituary
James Leon Jones, Sr. went home to meet the Lord on Friday, April 16, 2021. He was born in Havre de Grace, MD on August 27, 1966 and raised in Harford County, MD where he lived throughout his life. He is survived by his wife, Marsha Jones; his five children, Jessica Hohman, James Jones, Jr., Justin Jones, Dylan Jones, and Julianna Jones; seven grandchildren; his brother, Ken Jones, and sisters, Sandy Kegley and Fay Gordon and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Eldredge "Frank" Jones and his mother, Elizabeth M. Jones-Freeman. James was a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan and loved his rock and roll, but more than anything, he loved his family. He worked in housing maintenance for many years and then for Park Moving and Storage until he had to retire from working due to his declining health. James will be sorely missed, because he was greatly loved.

James is my uncle. We were roommates back when I was a teenager. One night he asked me to make something for dinner. I had no clue how to cook yet and pretty much all we had was a bag of potatoes. So I made fried potatoes with old bay, I sliced almost the whole bag. We had enough to feed an army! He happily ate a huge plate of them. We would stay up so many late nights memorizing a Deanna Carter cd, singing our hearts out. We went to her concert together it was amazing!

Marsha, Kenny, Sandy and Fay. I am truly sorry for your loss. Please accept my condolences during this difficult time. I have found I have spoke more about James in the last three weeks than the last 16 years. My good memories seem to be watercolor and faded. But James’s presence has never left my life. His humor, laughter, and mannerism are seen daily in our sons JJ and Justin. Plus he is still strong in Jessica’s childhood memories as she shares rituals with her children with great endearment. These are the good memories I will be able to keep with me for our future. So James Leon Jones Sr. with Gods grace and mercy. Rest with Peace. And in his remembrance “TNT” Judi Lynn
