Obituary
Patricia O’Mara of Aberdeen, a beloved mother, mom-mom, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by love and family on Monday evening, February 23rd, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center at the age of 72.
Born in Baltimore Maryland, one of the youngest out of thirteen children, she set her roots in Aberdeen with her late husband, Aloysius “AL” O’Mara III. Together, they owned and operated, Something Unusual Antique Shop, for more than 30 years.
After closing the shop, Patricia worked at Wawa up until her retirement in 2022, where she became a familiar and friendly face in the community. She took pride in her work and in the connections she built with coworkers and customers alike.
Patricia was kind and caring to those around her. She always made sure others were taken care of and often put their needs before her own.
She enjoyed gardening, dancing, watching Hallmark Movies, and her extensive collection of Pugs in memory of her late pug, Maxine.
Patricia was a true fighter. She courageously overcame cancer not just once but multiple times. She will always be remembered as a fighter whose strength touched the hearts of many.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, siblings, and her granddaughter, who all held a special place in her heart.
Most of all, Patricia loved her family. She is survived by her son, Aloysius “Wish” O’Mara IV and his wife Christina O’Mara of Aberdeen, along with her stepdaughters and multiple grandchildren.
Though her physical presence is gone, the love she shared and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Her laughter, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends will continue to guide and comfort them in the years to come.
