Obituary

Randolph Mac Foster, 87, of Aberdeen, Md., passed peacefully on September 22, 2026. Born on April 5, 1939, in Smyth County, Virginia, he lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a steady presence that those who knew him will remember with affection.

Randolph’s life journey took him from his Virginia roots into service with the Army, where he traveled abroad and gained experiences that stayed with him throughout his life. He went on to build a career as an Electronics Technician at Aberdeen Proving Ground, a role that reflected the same determination and reliability that shaped so much of his life. He believed in working hard and doing things the right way, and those values were evident in everything he took on.

He was a man who found joy in simple, hands-on things. He enjoyed playing pool, collecting coins, tinkering around the house, and working on his cars. These were not just hobbies to him, but ways of staying busy, staying curious, and keeping his hands occupied. He also enjoyed being part of the APA pool community and valued his time with the VFW and the American Legion. In these places, as in all parts of his life, he was known as someone dependable and sincere.

Above all else, Randolph was devoted to his family. He married Mary Ann Foster, and together they shared a life built on love, commitment, and the steady companionship that comes with many years together. He was a proud father to Dianna Foster and Bryan Foster, and a loving grandfather to Paul Turczyn, Kirk Tutczyn, Erik Turczyn, Caitlynn Petty, Jordan Petty, and Danielle Keen. He also cherished his three great-grandchildren. His family was at the center of his life, and he carried his role as husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather with quiet pride and deep care.

Those who knew Randolph will remember his humor as much as his work ethic. He was funny, determined, and full of the kind of warmth that made others feel at ease. He did not need to say a great deal to make his presence known. His actions spoke clearly, and his love for his family was steady and unmistakable. He was a Christian, and his faith was part of the life he lived with purpose and grace.

Randolph leaves behind a lasting example of dedication, strength, and love for family. He will be deeply missed by Mary Ann, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who had the blessing of knowing him. His life was a good and honest one, and his memory will remain a source of comfort and strength to those who loved him.
