Marie Alice Shipley

Marie Alice Shipley of Aberdeen died Tuesday, June 8 under the loving care of staff at Jacob’s Well Assisted Living. She was 92. Born in Edgewood, MD she was the daughter of the late Raphael E. and Eula B. (Umberger) Davis. Mrs. Shipley retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground and was an avid gardener. She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Harold C. Shipley; sons, Terry H. Shipley and his wife Gale of Aberdeen and Larry J. Shipley of Aberdeen; grandsons, Rodney E. Shipley and Michael H. Shipley; great grandchildren, Courtney, Alex and Melissa and her sister, Hope L. Ruff of Bel Air and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her siblings, Edward M. Davis, Ruth Quinan, Blanche L. Gross and Leland A. Davis. Visitation and services are private. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Sen, Bob Hooper Hospice House, 2007 Klein Plaza Dr., Forest Hill, MD.
