Doris Jean Franey passed away at her home in Abingdon on Monday, April 3, 2023. She was 85.
Born in Baltimore, MD she was the daughter of the late John and Bessie Mae (Lowe) Schriver and wife of the late Charles V. Franey.
Mrs. Franey retired after many years as a nursing assistant at Franklin Woods Center. She was very active in her church, Mt. Calvary Free Will Baptist.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna A. Woodward and her husband James Woodward of Aberdeen; grandchildren, Dawn Ashwell, Jason and Brian Williams, Bradley and Andrew Woodward and her great grandchildren, Tyler, Grace, Lillian, Colton, Avery, and Delaney. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by her son, Charles Franey, Jr. and her siblings, Marge and Lillian.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 6 from 2:00-4:00pm at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home, P.A. where a funeral service will begin at 4:00pm. Interment will be held on Monday, April 10 at 10:00am at Parkwood Cemetery.
