Louise Palmer

Louise "Lou" Palmer of Aberdeen died March 19 at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace surrounded by her family. She was 77. Born in Long Island, NY she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Sheehy. As a registered nurse, she worked at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace in what was then known as the "Accident Room" and she also assisted in the birth of many "Harford Babies" Mrs. Palmer later became an occupational nurse at Lock Joint Pope Company. She devoted the remainder of her 40 year nursing career to her patients at Perry Point VA Medical Center. Family said her kindness, compassion, selflessness and patience positively affected countless people in their lifetimes. After her retirement from nursing, she discovered a natural talent for painting and became a gifted artist, family members said. She was an avid gardener, growing both flowers and vegetables. She applied her creativity to cooking, crocheting and various crafts. One of her greatest passions besides her family was cats. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother, family said. Mrs. Palmer is survived by her husband of 55 years, Royce C. Palmer; a daughter Laurie Castellino and her husband Joseph, of Philadelphia and a son Mark Palmer of Port Deposit. A Mass of Christian Burial will be today March 23 at 9 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Aberdeen. Father Samuel V. Young will officiate. Interment will be in Harford Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen. Memorial donations can be made to the American Stroke Association, P.O.
