Robert Raymond Scherer, Sr.

Robert R. Scherer, Sr. of Aberdeen, died May 26 at his home. He was 78. Born in Kingsville, MD he was the son of the late Raymond and Mary T. (Mathias) Scherer. He retire in 1999 as a Federal Police Officer for the VAMC of Baltimore, he was also a Navy Veteran of WW II, a member of the American Legion in Perryville, and Mt. Calvary Free Will Baptist Church. He loved to camp, hunt, and fish. Mr. Scherer is survived by his wife the former Betty Mae Davenport, one son Robert Scherer, Jr. and his wife Bonnie, two daughters Vickey Koch and Jean Marie Amerin and her husband Robert, one sister Janice Chiodi, 12 grandchildren, one great grandchild, and two daught-in-laws Theresa Scherer and Denise Scherer. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by two sons Barry and Charles Scherer, Sr. Friends may call at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home, P.A. on May 27 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held May 28 at 9:30am at Mt. Calvary Free Will Baptist Church. Interment Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
