Bessie E. Morris

Bessie E. "Betty" Morris of Havre de Grace died July 13, 2005 at Harford Memorial Hospital. She was 78. Born in Harford County, she was the daughter of the late Walter E. and Rubye Preston Bloom Sr. Mrs. Morris had retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground as the chief of Human engineering lab technology library. She was a member of Havre de Grace. Her family said she loved reading and gardening. She is survived by four grandchildren, Kevin C. Morris, Dr. Randall W. Morris, Kyle C. Morris and Kara G. Morris, all of Richmond, Va.; two step-grandchildren, G. Shane Waas Sr. and Wendy G. Russo, both of Fernandina Beach, FL; two great-grandchildren, Carter A. and Bryce W. Morris, both of Richmond, VA; five step-grandchildren, G. Shane Waas, Jr., Katie S. Coleman, Summer W. Coleman, Grace Coleman and Dillon Russell Russo, all of Fernandina Beach, Fl; one daughter-in-law, Laura S. Morris of Fernandina Beach, Fl; four sisters, Ruby Anne Saltzgiver and her husband, Stephen H., of Bel Air, Brenda J. Jamison and her husband, James V., of Pinehurst, N.C., Doris E. Palmer of Havre de Grace and Lucile L. McKibbin of Fort Wayne, Ind; several nieces and nephews and one very close friend and companion, Paul Williams of Perryville. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Russell W. Morris Sr., one son, Russell W. Morris Jr., one brother, Walter E. Bloom, Jr., one sister, Gloria M. Coakley, and two brothers-in-law, Marshall Palmer and G. Dean McKibbin. A graveside service will be July 18 at 3 PM at Bel Air Memorial Gardens with Rev. Fritz Longabaugh officiating.
