Alex Cummings

Alex Cummings of Aberdeen died August 2 at PerryPoint VA Medical Center. He was 72. Born in Gough, GA, he was the son of the late George and Fannie Mae Cummings. Mr. Cummings served as a Staff Sergeant in the Army as a maintenance instructor. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Aberdeen. Mr. Cummings is survived by his wife of 44 years, Christa A. Cummings; his son, Willy I. Cummings and his wife, Sheila, of Rising Sun; his daughters, Ruby McClarin and her husband, Mac, of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Linda Cummings of Aberdeen; and grandchildren, Jerry J. Jones of Aberdeen, Adrianne K. Cummings and Christa J.M. Cummings, both of Rising Sun, Roberto V.Romero of Darlington, and Lavisha J. McClarin and Beonee C. McClarin, both of Hattiesburg, Miss. A viewing will be today (Aug. 5) from 6 to 8 PM at Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home, P.A. in Aberdeen, with Pastor Jason Evans officiating. Services will be private.
