Obituary

Anna Isabell Duguid, born September 25, 1919 to Edward B. and Mabel W. Duguid in Baltimore City, died at the Lorien Nursing Home in Riverside. She had lived her entire 85 years in Aberdeen, with the exception of a few months in early forties when she worked on a temporary assignment from Edgewood Arsenal during WWII. Anna was a lifelong member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Aberdeen. She was active in many church activities as a member of the Fidelis Class she served in many capacities including chairman of the Nearly New Sale. After graduation from Aberdeen High School, class of 1937, she became active in many volunteer groups. She was one of the first hostesses at the local USO Organization. Anna completed many correspondent and evening instructor classes to improve her knowledge of Army Finance and at the time of her retirement she was an analyst with 37 years longevity to her credit. After retirement she joined the staff at Harford Democrat for a short time. It certainly was not all work with no play for Anna. She enjoyed her travels here in the states and a few overseas tours. Canada, Bermuda, Mexico, the Alpine areas of Central Europe, were never to be forgotten. She visited Florida and New England whenever possible and often considered relocating there, however Aberdeen always won out. Home is where the heart lies and Aberdeen was home. Anna is a member of the staff at our Aberdeen Museum and she will be missed very much. Funeral Home: Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home 333 South Parke Street Aberdeen, MD US 21001
