Alice Jean Miller 96 of Aberdeen, MD passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023. Born in Great Bend, KS on March 27, 1927, she was the daughter of Henry and Katie (Schmidt) Schroeder.
Alice moved to Aberdeen 18 years ago from Kerrville, TX to live with her daughter, Sherry Schaffer. She waitressed most of her life and went on to own her own restaurant in Texas. She loved to cook, play the piano and she loved gospel and country music.
She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and had a soft spot for all animals in life.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Miller; two sons, Gary Todd Miller and Duane Miller and his wife Linda; both of her parents and all 13 of her siblings.
Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Schaffer and her companion Terry Layton; grandchildren, James Schaffer (Jennifer) of Aberdeen and Leslie Miller Bohn (George) of Arkadelphia, AR, and many great grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, July 14 at 12:00pm at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home where a visitation will be held from 11am-12pm.
