I will miss Opal. I meet Opal when I was 16 years old (which was many years ago)and working at the Bayou Restaurant. She always had a smile on her face and made you feel special. My family took me out to dinner on February 4th to celebrate my birthday (this was a yearly event) and Opal was always there to greet us. This year was no different and I was deeply saddened and shocked to hear of her passing. I feel very fortunate that I was able to talk to her and hug her one last time. My thought and prayers are with you during this difficult time. God Bless!

Dear Patty and Billy: I was so sorry to hear of your mom' death. I apologize for the confusion and arriving too late to honor her memorial service. I knew Opal through Betty Wallace Byers from years ago and thoroughly enjoyed your Mom's company. I pray the the LORD's peace will shine down upon your families. God Bless you, In the Love of the LORD Jesus, Ida Pierce

Dear Patty and Billy, I am writing this on behalf of my mother Dorothea, who was not aware of your mother's passing until this weekend. She was truly shocked to hear of your loss and greatly disappointed that she did not stop by to pay her condolences. Our mothers knew each other for a very long time and my mother thought a lot of your Mom, even though she couldn't spend a lot of time with her. I wish I had been able to chat with her more than I did - she was so charming. And I loved the way she dressed! It is a sad sad time but I hope you have joy in remembering your mother's life. Accept our deepest sympathy. We had the pleasure of meeting Opel more than 20 years ago. Opel was a very close friend of my sister Betty Byers. She was a very warm and loving person. She will always remain in our prayers and in our hearts.
