Virginia Kay Barron
February 15, 1948 - March 01, 2006
Obituary
Virginia Kay Barron, better mow as Ginny, died March 1, 2006 at her home in Havre de Grace, Maryland at the age of 58. After being diagnosed with advanced uterine cancer in March 2005, Ginny continued to put others first as she battled her disease for the past year. Born in Somerset Pennsylvania on February 15, 1948, Ginny unknowingly began her lifelong purpose of touching the lives of others while always putting her needs and desires second. After serving as the Somerset Fire Queen and a Pennsylvania Maple Princess, Ginny graduated from high school in 1966, the same year she became the Pennsylvania Laurel Queen in Wellsboro PA After attending secretarial schoQl in Pittsburgh P A, Ginny married her high school sweetheart, Jim Barron, in September of
1967. The couple had a lot of fun with the fact that Ginny never had to change her last
name. After raising her two children, Gregory & Deena, Ginny moved onto the perfect
job for her, receptionist at "Odyssey - The Salon", a hair salon in Aberdeen, Maryland. There, on a daily basis, Ginny continued to make a difference by touching the lives of others. When her sister Nancy suffered a brain aneurism in 1998, Ginny quickly took a
leave from her job to be with Nancy for two years through her rehabilitation. Ginny was a gorgeous woman of striking beauty. But that beauty was far from skin deep as she projected her inward beauty to all she met. She was a very strong willed person, very sure of herself and sometimes very head strong. Her niece, Lori Barron Cork of Birmingham Alabama always said Aunt Ginny had "strong leadership skills". She was the type of person that could walk up to a stranger on the street and within minutes that person felt like they had mown her for a lifetime. When she walked into a room everyone mew Ginny was there. Ginny was preceded in death by her father Dean Bowman Barron and her mother Betty Jane Barron, both of Somerset P A; her brother Larry Lee Barron of Birmingham Alabama who just lost his battle with prostate cancer on February 21, 2006. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, James Barron; her son, Gregory Barron, of Rising Sun Maryland; her daughter Deena Madore and her husband Steve Madore of Aberdeen Maryland; four grandchildren, Jefferey Barron, Christopher Barron, Griffin Barron; Brynn Renee Madore; her sister-in-law, Linda Barron of Birmingham Alabama; one sister, Nancy Barron Dady of St. Louis Missouri; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. The family wishes to thank Dr. Sankari Sivasailam and all the wonderful nurses and employees of Maryland Hematology/Oncology Associates on Atwood Road in Bel Air for the loving care they gave Ginny in her battle with Cancer and to Harford Hospice for the loving care and support given to Ginny and her family over the past month. The family will receive friends at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home, 333 S. Parke St., Aberdeen, MD on Friday
March 3rd from 2-4 and 7-9pm where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 12:00PM. Interment will be in Harford Memorial Garden. Contributions may be made to Harford Hospice, Tyler Ridge IIA, 8003 Corporate Dr., Baltimore, MD 21236

It started back in 1995 when I had the privliage to meet Ginny at a job interview. Who would have known at the time what it would have lead to. I soon joined the Ronkin Team and also considered the Barrons' as my new family. Ginny made you feel so welcomed. I am so honored to have known Ginny and have so many wonderful memories. I will cherish those memories forever. Thank you Ginny for giving me the chance to know you and be a part of your life. I will always remember you.

I came to know Ginny when I started with Ronkin Construction in 2003. She welcomed me into the Ronkin family with open arms and I had the great opportunity to know a wonderful lady. She will be greatly missed by all whom she touched. My deepest sympathy to Jim, Deena and Greg.

Dear Baron Family, I just wanted to say that the service was beautiful. It was so nice to see all the lives that Ms Gin has touched, and what a beautiful family she has raised. I know she is proud. I wanted to say thanks to the Barron family for being a part of my sisters’ (Kim Grant) life, especially to Ms Gin. She has had a big impact on Kim and the life she lives now. I wish everyone the best. I know it hurts now, but where she is now, she is pain free and living a glorious life. And keep in mind that you now have your own ANGEL watching out for you. Sincerely, Kathy Fye (Green)
