Daniel W. Smith Sr.

Daniel Wilbur Smith Sr. of Aberdeen died July 11 at Lorien at Riverside in Belcamp. He was 79. Born in Hawaii, he was the son of the late Roy Lee Sr. and Catherine Calvaho Smith and the husband of the late Mary Louise Smith. Mr. Smith was retired as a custodian from Harford Community College and also worked as a carpenter for many builders in Harford County. he was a scout master in the Harford County region for many years and enjoyed camping and the outdoors. Mr. Smith is survived by his son, David W. Smith and his wife, Katherine, of Aberdeen; his granddaughter, Dedria D. Keyes and her husband, Dale, of Aberdeen; two grandsons; a great-granddaughter, Autumn D. Keyes of Aberdeen; and his sisters, Patricia Shaw of Oden, Ind. and Della Smith of Galion, Ohio. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Smith was also predeceased by his daughters, Nora D. Smith and Catherine D. Baker, and by three brothers. A viewing will be July 14 from 10 am to noon at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home, P.A., where services will be July 14 at noon at the funeral Home, with Brother Daniel Barnes officiating.
