To the Knight Family: Bob was our friend and neighbor. We called him "Good Neighbor Bob" and then when he moved to Aberdeen, we called him "Deserter Bob". We didn't like the fact that he wasn't our neighbor any longer. We swapped vegetables from roadside stands, chocolates and his famous cabbage soup. We shopped at Costco and Home Depot and my husband, Art and I, even did his shopping if he had to work late and would miss the sale. We purchased his black and gold bedding set on one of these excursions. We missed him so much after his move to Aberdeen. We visited him there and threatened him each Christmas with holiday themed inflatables filled with helium so that they could hover over his house. He introduced us to Dave Dinsmore, non-alcoholic Bloody Marys, the suit of armor, plantation shutters and so much more. We talked about divas and New York and Hunter's Sale Barn. A part of him will always be with us. He frequently mentioned his niece, the mail carrier, who was his "Princess Di", his sister who would always clean-up and take care of everyone else, one brother's unique sense of humor and how another could construct things. He would share stories about his Mom and the big meals that went with family gatherings. He was a blessing to us. I last saw him at the doctor's office in Aberdeen about 3 month's ago. I could tell he wasn't feeling well but he was far more concerned about my health. We will miss "Good Neighbor Bob" and our shopping excursions, but he will remain in our hearts forever and there will come a day when we will launch a holiday inflatable, filled with helium, and let it float toward heaven... May God Bless you all... Karen Green and Art Kettell, Tome's Landing.
