Alvin Leroy Mahan

Alvin Leroy Mahan, 73, of Havre de Grace, MD, died Tuesday, August 7, 2007, in the University of Maryland. Born in Level, MD, he was a son of the late Allen L. and Myrtle (Stearn) Mahan. Mr. Mahan retired in 2000 as an electrician for Owens and Illinois in Havre de Grace. He also served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Masons (Darlington), Tall Cedars of Lebanon #142, Hopewell United Methodist Church, and the Methodist Men at the church. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Patricia A. (Overmiller) Mahan; sons, Keith A. Mahan of Perryman, MD, and Kevin S. Mahan of Conowingo, MD; daughter, Robin A. Mahan of Havre de Grace, MD; grandchildren, Brandalynne E. Mahan of Havre de Grace, MD, Taylor K. Mahan of Conowingo, MD, and Tala N. Mahan of Havre de Grace, MD; Brothers, Marvin G. Mahan of Colora, MD, Robert S. Mahan of Red Lion, PA, Melvin L. Mahan of Havre de Grace, MD, and Edward A. Mahan of Aberdeen, MD. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mahan was preceded in death by his grandson, Kevin S. Mahan, Jr. in 2000; and brother, James L. Mahan in 2005. Viewing is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 9 from 6-9 p.m., at Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home, P.A., 333 South Parke Street, Aberdeen, MD. Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 10, at 10:00 a.m., at the funeral home. Rev. John Dailey will officiate. Interment will be in Rock Run Cemetery.
