TO THE FAMILY OF DOUGLAS ALBERT JONES If we could bring you back again, For one more hour or day, We'd express all our unspoken love; We'd have countless things to say. If we could bring you back again, We'd say we treasured you, And that your presence in our lives Meant more than we ever knew. If we could bring you back again, To tell you what we should, You'd know how much we miss you now, And if we could, we would. It will be the little things that you will remember, the quiet moments, the smiles, the laughter. And although it may seem hard right now, it will be the memories of these little things that help to push away the pain and bring the smiles back again. The sorry of the faithful is not that of permanent loss, but the tender sense of sadness that comes in saying good-bye for now to someone we love. May today's sorrow give way to the peace and comfort of God's love. Words, however kind, can't mend your heartache: but those who care and share your loss wish you comfort and peace of mind. May you find strength in the love of family and in the warm embrace of friends.

Dear Friends and Family, There are no words that can adequately describe my feelings of loss and sadness for my brother Doug. In time we will work through our grief and sorrow. I truly appreciate the strength and compassion of so many friends and family members...it was wonderful to see so many who came to honor and remember him. Martha Turnbaugh, Charlene's sister passed on a verse from a poem that I found very comforting and I would like to share it here: "So when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart, for every time you think of me, I'm right here in your heart." Doug was one of the smartest men I know and I am grateful for the time he was here and shared love and laughter in our lives. Always his little sister, Libby

To all who loved and knew my brother Doug, I want all who read this to know how truly proud I was of my brother Doug. He gave me a bright place to look at when my life looked its worse. There are so many things he wanted to achieve and so many people he took care of. For all of you who were his brothers in the Guard, be proud and aware of the man you served with, I know I was. To the rest of my family I want us all to know we are strong, we'll never stop missing Doug as long as we have our wonderful memories and feelings that are here right now with us in our hearts. Never forget I love you Doug, my next biggest brother.

It has been both a pleasure and an honor to serve with Doug and to be his friend for the pass 25 years. When Doug came to the Air Guard he worked in my shop and for most of his time here we worked together. We have spent many trips together and I have stories that contribute to the kind of guy Doug was. He was one of the most stable, kind and caring people I have ever known. He was always a phone call away, my wife and I will miss Doug more then words can describe. Thank you Char for allowing me to carry his dog tag on me as I depart for Iraq, I will keep it close to my heart as well as Doug’s memory. He will be with me in sprit as I head into a combat and I will bring his dog tag back safe and sound. Dougger I will miss you deeply.
