Obituary

Theodore Bond of Aberdeen (affectionately known as “Teddy” and Babe Brother), passed away at Harford Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. He was 69 years young. Born in Havre de Grace, MD he was the son of the late George Brown and Alice May (Bond) Walker. Mr. Bond worked for the Gill Corporation, previously known as Alcor and retired after giving 27 years of service. He was a member of Mt. Calvary UAME Church in Aberdeen. His greatest enjoyment came from playing basketball (at the courts in Swans Meadows), taking long rides, going to concerts with his friends and spending time with his grandchildren. Teddy loved to hunt and fish. So much so that his brothers recall him waking up to hunt before school. By taking initiative to care for his siblings, he took some of the burden off his dear sweet mother. Just another example showing his strong will and determination to take the lead to provide for his family. Teddy loved to groove! His brother’s recall riding with Uncle John and listening to greats such as Sam Cooke, The Temptations and Otis Redding. This was the beginning of Teddy’s love for music. So much so that back in the 70’s he was a singer in a local band called “Harry T and the soul searcher’s “.The band consisted of William “Bird “ Tildon on lead , Bobby Williams on background vocals, Morgan Tildon and Steven Foster on guitar ,Ronnie “Mr. Magoo” Foster on bass, Stanley Warfield on sax, “Fatman” Higgins and Tommy Shivers on trumpet and James “ Jimmy” Warfield on drums . You could surely find Teddy anywhere playing jazz, R&B, down home blues, old time gospel and harmonizing (especially while cleaning his car). We all know he kept his car “so fresh and so clean”! “What’s happening Chief?” Every Sunday, you could find him and his closest friends gathering at his home for “NFL Sunday”. Where they could rep their favorite teams, eat, drink and rag on each other about whose team was best (but we all know it was the Cowboys, right Daddy?!). He was a “Man's Man”. John Guy (RIP), William Payne, Tony Wing, Van Franklin (RIP), John Harris, Isaiah “Ike” Harvey (RIP), Cedric Huff, Anthony “Clyde” Johnson, William “Bird” Tildon, Kenny Crumble , Bruce Edwards, Thomas (Star) Houston, Kevin Waldon, Eric Flemming, Harrison and Mike Kelly. Thank you for being extended brothers to our Daddy. We know beyond a shadow of a doubt, when missing him we can find pieces of him in you! He is survived by his daughters, Natasha N. Bond of Aberdeen and Monique D. Neely of Edgewood and son Benjamin W. Willis of Aberdeen. Grandchildren, Leighton Bond, Lennox Bond-Adams, Julio Solis and Ali Robinson Eric, Immanuel, and Autumn McFaland. Great granddaughter, Nix Walker. To the Bond Family and the entire Bush Chapel community, l offer my condolences in the passing of “Babe Brother.” It hurts to my core. Although I have been away from our community for 40 plus years. Babe Brother was always around when I’d come home. It didn’t matter where l went. He was one person l would always see or run into. He still had that big grin-smile each time. His chuckle-laugh was always warm and authentic. Just know my thoughts and prayers are with you. Rest In Peace! Linda Allison
