Grandma, you will always be precious to me. I'm so grateful that you were able to spend the latter part of your life in comfort, exploring new things (like Australia!), and most importantly - with the independence and ability to move about the house with familiarity and on your own steam. After your short stay in a nursing home in 2006, you bounced-right-back and lived the next 18 months at home - alert, happy, and with many shared meals among family and friends. We will ALL miss you, grandma - and there will forever be a place in my heart for my sweet grandmother who taught me what caring and generosity truly meant. Without you, I wouldn't have had the opportunities that made me who I am today. May you forever rejoice with God and the Saints. I look forward to seeing you again on the other side.

Over the 17 years that Greg and I have known each other, I did have the pleasure of making Vada's acquaintance. Of course, we had subsequent opportunities to visit over the years. One of my fondest memories was the year we all spent Thanksgiving Day together, sharing a meal and visiting with Granny at her home, near Aberdeen.

Greg and Jeff, I was very sorry to hear about Vada's passing. She is in a better place now and is no longer ill. I know you will miss her a great deal, but remember, you gave her the comforts she needed when she needed them, just as she did you. I'm glad she got to see Longwood Gardens and the other places you took her. She will rest in peace.

Greg and Jeff, I am truly sorry for your loss. I remember so vividly coming to Vada's house so many years ago and wondered as I left how she was able to work all the jobs she did and take care of her children. She was truly a remarkable lady and blessed to have you two in her life, taking care of so many things. Thank you for that. I too, hope to see her one day, strong and healthy again.
