Born July 27, 1953 in New York City, he was a son of the late Rolf Eskil Anderson and Andrea McCarthy Anderson. He was the husband of Rita Marcucci Anderson of Havre de Grace. He began singing in church choirs when he was five and continued vocal training until graduation in 1971. Eventually, they toured cross country to California, playing a six-month stand in some of the world's greatest clubs. After a stint in Albuquerque, N.M., he was headed for Atlanta, Ga., to regroup and take on a civilian tour of the southeastern U.S. With the band FM, he toured Georgia, Florida, Alabama and other southern states. He and his wife returned home to help care for his wife's aging grandparents. At this juncture, he entered the group of seasoned veterans "Quickfire" and played the local hot spots. Mr. Anderson was employed at Saks Inc. as a computer hardware analyst until his illness. He lived and breathed the History Channel and fishing. He wrote his own music, and recorded his voice to other peoples music. He stayed caught up with the Navy through Navy Times and fixed up antique vehicles. Dear Rita and family, We were shocked to learn only today via the online Aegis of Eric's untimely death. We send our most sincere condolences to all his family and mates. Eric was a good mate of mine and we had many yarns and laughs packing lollies (candies) at the can factory in Riverside. I was looking forward to seeing him again in the winter when we next go to the U.S.A. I shall miss his cheery and cheeky personality and of course his music. I am sure he will be at home - maybe playing the harp - with the big band in the sky. May God bless his soul and comfort all of you. Our love Robert and Sandy Lee 34 Jumbuk Rd Goolwa SA 5214 Australia
