Sarah Hinder Doilney

Sarah Hinder Doilney, a former Harford County resident, died at Christus St. Joseph's Villa in Salt Lake City, Utah, Aug 1. She was 86. Born May 4, 1922 in Hagerstown, her family said Mrs. Doilney lived her life to the fullest and shared her knowledge, love and smiles with all she touched. Through her involvement with family, friends and Catholic parishes in Aberdeen, Boynton Beach, Fla., and Park City, Utah, she focused her life on serving others. Mrs. Doilney will be remembered as an inspiring woman with a captivating smile. Mrs Doilney's greatest joy came from feeding all visitors, visiting with her family, taking care of her children, nieces, nephews and grandchildren and being a 30-year "summer local" on the Park City Municipal Golf Course. Mrs. Doilney is survived by sons, Mike Doilney and his wife, Toni and Jim Doilney and his wife, Michelle Skally Doilney; her grandchildren, Jake Doilney and his wife Shawn, Essie Roberts and her husband, Henry, Max Doilney and Molly Retzer and her husband, Chris; a son-in-law, Lloyd Van Lunen; a daughter-in-law Diane Dofelmier; a sister, Ann Webster, and her husband, Harry; and two sisters-in-law, Joyce and Caroline Hinder. Mrs. Doilney was predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Helen Hinder; a daughter, Mary Ellen Van Lunen; four sisters, Helen, Mary, Kay, and Laura; and two brothers, Joe and John Hinder. A memorial Mass was Aug. 2 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Park City, Utah. A funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. today (Aug. 6) at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Aberdeen. A graveside service will be at Bel Air Memorial Gardens immediately following the Mass.
