James Burt Kendall

Obituary
On November 12, 2008 James "Jim" B. Kendall left this earth to go to a better place. He left behind his wife his wife of 39 years, Helen L. Kendall. Mr. Kendall had three biological children but he was a second dad to six other people. George, James Jr., and Mary Kendall had the right to call Mr. Kendall Dad, but Retha, Aggie, Pete, Jr., Leo, and Theresa had the pleasure of having Jim in their lives as a second Dad. Over those 39 years the six other children gave Jim his grandchildren. Mr. Kendall loved his 15 grandchildren dearly. In addition to those grandchildren, the other children added some of their step-children to the number of people that called Mr. Kendall "Pop-Paw" and he loved them as well. This family doesn't recognize the term "step-children" because children, regardless of their age and biological position, are loved just the same. Mr. Kendall (Jim, Pop-Paw) will be greatly missed. He loved to fish, play cards, shoot pool, and joke with the boys. We love you Jim and are happy to know that you no longer are in pain. Mr. Kendall served in the US Army and became disabled due to a service connected disability. He was proud to be a veteran. We were proud to be his family. The pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Dear Dad, Sorry I wasn't there the last few years of your life, but I loved you with all my heart. At least I was there in 2004, at Harford Memorial Hospital to tell you stories of our fishing adventures together, the stories that helped you to come out of a coma. Saw you one time after, and never again. Have always felt bad about not seeing you again, but you know the family considered me the blacksheep, and never let me know anything. After nine months since you passed away, I learn of your demise from the Internet. What a way to find out! Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I will always love you and will bring you flowers and pray for you to enjoy your new home in heaven. Your Loving Son, George Monroe Kendall
