Obituary

Ellen Mae "Mae" Trott, age 98, of Aberdeen, Maryland, passed away at her home on February 25, 2024. She was known for her kindness, love, and dedication to her family and friends. Mae was a generous soul who spent much of her time volunteering at her church and was a life member of the Dundalk Sailing Power Squadron, formerly the Bush River Power Squadron. She was married to her beloved husband, Charles Trott, for 62 years before his passing.

At 82 years old, Mae fulfilled a lifelong dream by going on a hot air balloon ride with her son, leaving her family with the memorable words, "If I don’t make it back, I had a great time!" Mae was an avid reader, enjoyed baking and cake decorating, and found purpose in helping at her church. She also took the initiative to create a widows and widowers support group, providing comfort and companionship to those who shared a similar loss.

Mae is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Services for Mae will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024, starting with visitation at 12:00 PM, followed by a service at 2:00 PM at Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home, located at 333 S Parke St. Aberdeen, MD 21001.

A gathering will take place after the service at Grace United Methodist Church, Fellowship Hall, 110 W. Bel Air Ave., Aberdeen, MD 21001.
