Obituary
Carol Lee Triplett, born on April 26, 1940, in Beckley, West Virginia, passed away August 31, 2026.
Carol was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, wife, sister, and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents Dot and James Snyder, her brother James and by her son, Eugene Solonka. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Raymond Little and James Triplett.
Carol leaves behind five children: Steven Solonka, Eugenia Place, Dorothy Solonka, James Solonka and William Little, along with 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Her family was her greatest pride, and she cherished the close, lifelong friendships she built with her children as adults. She wasn’t simply their mother - she was their friend, confidante, and biggest supporter.
Carol was known for many things, but perhaps most of all her bright, colorful hair and her even brighter, colorful spirit. She had the kind of heart and a gift for making people feel welcomed and loved. To Carol, a stranger was simply a friend she hadn’t met yet. She became “Mommom” to everyone she encountered, whether they were family, a lifelong friend, or someone who happened to cross her path.
For many years, Carol worked the drive thru at McDonald’s where she became much more than the friendly face at the window. She remembered people, cared about their lives, and make countless customers feel like family. Over the years, she became a source of comfort, encouragement and laughter to the people who came through her line.
Carol was a loyal friend who treasured the people in her life and never took those relationships for granted. Having outlived most of her lifelong friends, she cherished the memories she made. She loved spending time with family, keeping piles of photographs and making memories. She loved the beach, fresh flowers, a hot cup of coffee, and an ice-cold Coke - always a Coke, never Pepsi.
Her home and her heart were filled with the people and things she loved. She had a way of making ordinary moments special simply by being there. Her colorful hair may have been what caught your eye, but it was her kindness, warmth, humor and genuine love for others that made her unforgettable.
All though she is deeply missed, her legacy lives on in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, friends and in all those who were lucky enough to call her Mom, Mommom or friend.
Carol was everyone’s Mommom - and the world is a little less colorful without her.
Friends may call at Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home, P.A., 333 South Parke Street, Aberdeen on Wednesday, September 9, from 11 am to 1 pm when her funeral service will begin. Interment to follow at Principio UMC Cemetery.
