Obituary
Born in Ossining, NY she was the daughter of the late Francis and Elsie (Krings) Fitzpatrick.
A 1956 graduate of Hunter College in NY, she retired as a reading specialist for the Harford County Board of Education. She spent her years at Roye Williams Elementary School where she made many dear friends.
She was an active member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, a member of the Harford County Red Hats, and a member of the Aberdeen Golden Age Club where she enjoyed playing cards and other activities at the Aberdeen Senior Center.
Eileen was a true military wife, traveling the world with her husband John and making a home for her family throughout the U.S., France, Germany, and finally Aberdeen, MD.
She loved her family, community, shopping, Shalimar perfume, and ice cream. She always made time for everyone, whether at school, with civic groups or a cup of tea around the kitchen table. She helped many young soldiers' wives cope with military life. Her grandkids loved coming to "Camp Nack" for adventures with Grammy and Grampers. She was an avid painter of landscapes and still-life paintings that are treasured keepsakes for her family.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, COL (Ret.) John M. Nack; children, Jonathan P. Nack of San Jose, CA, Peter F. Nack and wife Brenda of Baltimore, Stephen A. Nack of Baltimore, Kathleen A. Nack of Los Altos, CA, Janet N. Coffey and husband Patrick of Ellicott City and son-in-law Rodney Schwarm of Easton; grandchildren, Cory, Tim, Alison, Jonathan, Patrick, Paulina and Liam; great grandchildren, Lyric, Layne, and Kennedy. She is also survived by her brother, Francis Fitzpatrick and his wife Janet of Campbell Hall, NY. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Diane Schwarm and sister, Mary Horn.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 14th from 3-6pm at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 15th at 11am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery on a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Joan of Arc Church.
