Obituary
Elizabeth Katherine “Betty” Andrews (nee Shelepet), age 82, passed away at her residence in Eutawville, SC surrounded by family on June 14, 2024. She fought a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born April 16, 1942, in Baltimore, MD to the late Joseph and Frances Shelepet.
On March 20, 1961, Betty married William Edward “Bill” Andrews Jr. Together they raised three loving children. Betty worked as a substitute schoolteacher and a bookkeeper with various firms while managing to keep the house together and the kid’s schedules straight. She never missed a school concert or athletic event for the kids. She was an avid bird watcher as long as those birds were the Baltimore Orioles and the Ravens. One of her most cherished events was the family crab feast each summer which gave her a way to release some stress during the “friendly” family croquet game. She also performed her civic duty by acting as a chief elections judge at her local polling location for 25 years.
Betty is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, William Edward “Bill” Andrews Jr., her cherished children Denise Marie Bon (Joe), Karen Louise Clair (Mike), and William Edward “Bill” Andrews III (Charlotte), her wonderful and deeply loved grandchildren Joseph Matthew Bon Jr., Stephanie Nichole Melucci, Wendi Lynn Steinly, Kamryn Jillian Ford, Jennifer Marie Dennison, Brandi Marie Bon, Crysannia Brenna Bull, Dylan Micheal Andrews, Trevor Joseph Crehan, Meaghan Virginia Thorpe, Elizabeth Lillian Schuebel, and Earl Albert “AJ” Schuebel III, and numerous loved great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Joan Ann Revis (Walt) and a brother Joseph John Shelepet (Marjorie)
The family will be receiving visitors at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home (333 S. Parke St., Aberdeen, MD) Monday June 24, 2024, from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm.
