Bruce Lester Long was one our favorite nephews, and I am Aunt Ruth (known as Flap) the last of the Winters Family. Dumpy called on a Wednesday morning, he sounded good, Flap I don't think I will be able to come up Uncle Sonny's Memorial. And I said, take care of yourself. My Brother (Kenny) passed away on June 6, 2024, called Uncle Sonny, on Bruce's Mom's Birthday. Bruce was known by the family as Dumpy. They were very similar they were truckers, and when both were together, it was truck talk. To tell you the truth, I always thought that Dumpy was born a baby Man. Just like My Brother Kenny, several days ago, I recall Dumpy having a job at eleven or twelve. And if he wasn't satisfied, with the job, he moved ON, no matter, there were several other people that had their eyes on him wanting him to work for them. In the Summers, I spent lots of times with my sisters Family. HE used to fill the bathtub up with water, I remembered when I asked a foolish question and he said to me, because (Baby) (their mother) is taking me up to Belair to get my boats. He built the boats, fixed Lawn mowers Cars in the yard and etc. I am lost without my brother and my nephew. All of us telephoned often to one another, and reminisced the old days Maryland and Dumpy loved God. Sending my Love. Flap forgive all typos.

This man is an absolute legend, he and my dad Thomas Branch drove trucks together back in the 70's. My dad and I were talking about him last night and they had lost touch. I am honored to have known the man called, "Gypsy" he was fun, funny, wild and best of all he was a family man. I remember family outings with him, his first wife and their daughter Syomn. Mescha was a baby the last time I saw her. "Gypsy" would come over to our home all the time and we all were so happy to him. His smile was illuminating, infectious and above all genuine. My dad shared whenever they were on the road and they went into a bar "Gypsy" would challenge the biggest, meanest dude in the place and when he shared that story I roared with laughter because that was him. He was like that super cool, crazy uncle to me. He loved my dad, called him "Tommy" all the time. From one veteran to another Mr. Bruce "Gypsy" Lester Long may your soul rest in peace. KIngram
