Obituary
Hurley "Bill" Daniel Short, Sr. of Aberdeen died Monday, April 18 at his home. He was 79.
Born in Buchanan County, Virginia he was the son of the late Jefferson and Martha (McGlothlin) Short. He moved to Aberdeen in 1960. Mr. Short was a carpenter, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing the guitar, and listening to country music.
He is survived by his wife Geneva Short of Aberdeen; son, Hurley "Danny" Short, Jr. of Aberdeen,; daughters, Sandy Bowman and husband Donald of Aberdeen, Lisa Stone and husband Corey of Port Deposit, and Angela Visser of Port Deposit; brothers, Ellis and Delmer Short both of Virginia and Alvie Short of Idaho; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and one step great grandchild. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his daughter Judy Short, seven brothers and two sisters.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 20 from 6-9pm at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral home where funeral services conducted by Pastor Howard Kane will be held on Thursday, April 21 at 10:00am. Interment will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Donnie Bowman, Jason Brown, Mark Short, Ryan Brown, Donald Bowman, and Don Helbert.
