Martha, you and Harold were like two peas in a pod! You weren’t just husband and wife, you were soul mates and best friends. Harold was always ready with a smile and a laugh; he made everyone in his presence smile right back. The two of you would kid each other in a fun way and you really enjoyed each other’s company. Harold had an amazing skill set—he could fix most anything and he was always ready to use his skills to help other people. He taught me (Joy) how to wire and hang a ceiling fan—an amazing feat for me that I really appreciated. Ray remembers how Harold came out to Eric’s house to build a swing set for the kids—Harold was amazing. Then there was the time when you and Harold convinced Ray to dress up as Santa for Drew because Harold would have been recognized! It was a fun time.
Here’s another memory from the past. Remember that New Year’s Eve when we were headed to a dance. Here we were behind you at the red light on Bel Air Avenue and Route 40 when out of the blue an Aberdeen taxi/van slammed into us so hard that we were pushed into your van. You and Harold thought, why are you hitting our car until you saw that our car was smashed into your bumper and all the windows exploded…you and Harold just took it in stride and the four of us continued to the dance in your van. Harold has always calm and mild mannered. He put everyone around him at ease and he got the most out of life…right up to the end. We love you and we’ll miss your best buddy! Just remember all the fun times you shared together.
