Charles Stuart Brown

Charles Stuart Brown, age 96 of Darlington died Saturday, July 16, 2011 in his home. Born in Newell, PA to the late James and Margaret Brown; beloved husband for 54 years of Sarah Brown (McNutt); loving father of Peggy Suter of Bel Air and Sandy Coldiron of Darlington; dear grandfather of Kristina Kennedy and husband Dave of Abingdon, Thomas Scott Kelly, Jr. and wife Amanda of Churchville, Justin Wesolowski of Chicago, IL, Angela Workman of Darlington and Jacob Coldiron and fiancé Nicole of Darlington. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren; a niece, Carol Robbins Fabriazini and cousin, Cynthia Johnson. Besides his parents Mr. Brown was predeceased by a brother, Blaine Brown and sisters, Thelma Enfield and Louise Robbins, and nephew, Eugene Enfield. Charles served proudly in the Army during WWII and after being discharged worked in the APG JAG office as a claims officer. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, the Aberdeen Golden Age Club, Darlington Lions Club, was an avid reader who also enjoyed playing bridge and pinochle, collecting coins and doing sudoku puzzles. Mr. Brown enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Family received friends in the family owned Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home, P.A. on Tuesday, July 19 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. A funeral service officiated by Rev. Harold L. Hubble will be held Wednesday, July 20 at 11am in the funeral home. Interment service with presentation of military honors will be held in Darlington Cemetery.
