Nicholas, They say when people pass they can watch over us and hear us talk to them - Im not sure if that is true but I pray that you can truly hear me and Emmy. There are so many things I wish I could say to you, yet I have a hard time finding the words. You are my best friend, the only person in the world who understands me inside and out. I don't think loosing you is something I will ever be able to move past. I see you in Em's eyes.. shes just like you, she'd rather wrestle then cuddle and rather tell jokes then play sports. She is a spitting image of you and your traits. I never thought I'd be writing to you in a way I wouldnt get a response and it hurts my heart in a way I cant explain. I reflect back on our past and I remember you in 2nd grade in a Dennis Rodman jersey or your Yankees shirt. Your the crazy one with green hair and that little smirk on your face. You went from that to an amazing father with a heart of gold. You were my best friend for many years before we truly fell in love and I will never forget the first time you told me how much you loved me (4/26/06).. You told me you were a lock and I was the only key to your heart, you told me you would hold on and never let go. I still picture us at the hospital giving birth to Emily.. you stood to my right and held me so tight. I will never forget your tears or how you told me how proud of me you were (2/6/08). The message you left me recently when you were at a wedding in PA replays over and over in my head. You told me you were at a wedding, the first one you had ever been to - and that the only wedding you could imagine is with me. Nick I am so sorry for anything I have ever done to hurt you.. we've been through so many ups and downs, we are both so stubborn.. I would do anything to grab onto you right now. I need my best friend back. Emmy needs her Daddy. No one could ever replace you. The spot you hold in my heart is forever yours. As much as I've cried the past few days, it still hasn't really set in all the way. Please help me find strength to find peace in this. I never imagined my life without you in it, in the bottom of my heart I felt we would find our way back to each other one day. You sent me a message the other day saying no one would ever be me and I feel the same way about you, no one can compare. I think about you sleeping on your power ranger pillow with your arms wrapped around me and Em. I think about you wrestling around with your little sisters and carrying Em on your shoulders. I think about the feeling I had when we took Emily to the zoo and you told me that I complete you. We have so many memories and loosing you is losing my past. I feel like my heart has been ripped out and I am shutting down. I promise I will take care of Em, I will make sure she knows you loved her and what a good Daddy you are. I promise I will never stop talking to you and that one day I will be back by your side. I promise I will raise Em to understand your values in life and embrace the qualities that you passed on to her. We will never ever forget you and you will always be our family. I pray people learn from your loss and that people can mature and realize they need to value the gift of life. I have a lot of regrets and wish I could go back in time.. if i knew when I hugged you goodbye a few weeks ago that it would have been the last time - I would have held on forever. Saying goodbye to you over the phone while you lay there in a funeral home just isn't fair. I love you baby, dont you ever forget that. I promise me and Emily will be back with you one day! Love always and forever, Teen Emily knows your her guardian angel now, please take good care of her!

Nick Since I had known you over the years, you had always been a stand-up kind of guy. You were very mature for your young age. I have seen how you were around your family. You were a good son, older brother and father. I remember our lengthy conversation in the kitchen talking about working out at the gym at odd hours and about you going back to school. You had a bright future ahead of you, but it was cut short too soon. You are dearly missed by all... /lily
