George W. Cooper, Jr.

George W. Cooper, Jr. of Aberdeen died Sunday, November 20 at Lorien at Riverside. He was 80. Born in Cherokee Falls, SC he was the son of the late George W. and Oveda (Turney) Cooper, Sr. Mr. Cooper retired as an electrician from Aberdeen Proving Ground. He served in the US Army, attended Assembly of God Church in Aberdeen and was a member of the Aberdeen Moose Lodge. Mr. Cooper is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley Ann Cooper; sons, George E. Cooper and wife Delia of Aberdeen and Gary A. Cooper and wife Judee of Edgewood; sisters Ruth Cooper of Charleston, SC and Rebecca West of Whiteville, NC; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his two daughters Brenda G. Copper and Patricia A. Cooper; brothers, James, Darvin, and Edward Cooper, and sister Flora Hawkins.
