Alverta L. Dennis

On May 11, 2012 God decided that He wanted His daughter, Alverta to be home with Him after loaning her to us for seventy-four years. We loved her but God loved her best. Alverta Lucinda Dennis, was born to the late Allen E. Murphy and Ada V. Kennard on July 24, 1937. She was a lifetime resident of Aberdeen, MD. Alverta departed this life on May11, 2012 at her residence. Alverta accepted Christ into her life in 1993 shortly after her sister Laura passed. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW post 6054, M.O.C.A. She retired from Father Martin's Ashley, Havre de Grace, MD. After retirement she worked part time at Citizens Care Center. Alverta enjoyed sitting on her porch with her girlfriends. Always had word search puzzles nearby, bingo and gardening. Loved spending time with family and friends. Alverta enjoyed spending time with Strictly Business Car & Truck Club. Most of all watching the club wash cars during a car wash. Always looked forward to weekly visits from grandchildren. Alverta leaves to cherish in her memory: two sons Ronnie Dennis (Gale Neecy) of Aberdeen, MD. Vivan Dennis, III (Linda Mack) of Aberdeen, MD. Three grandchildren: Ramel Dennis of Delaware, Dachelle Dennis of Aberdeen, MD, Darrus Dennis of Aberdeen, MD two great granddaughters, Destiny Cooper of Aberdeen, MD and Jessica Dennis of Delaware. Three sisters: Mildred Murphy, Nancy Bowser of Aberdeen, MD, Mary E. Carter of New Mexico. Two best friends: Mable Lester and Marjorie Jarvis of Harford County, MD. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A visitation was held at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 15 from 6-8pm and again on Wednesday, May 16 from 10-11am where funeral services conducted by Rev. Baron D.
