My condolences to John's family. Twenty-five years ago or so I worked with him for a very short time at the 7-Eleven on Rt. 40, and I believe after that, if I remember correctly, when I worked at the Aberdeen VFW he shot on a pool leage. He was a pleasant, mild-mannered, nice guy. Ironically, I ran into him at Wal-Mart 4 or 5 months ago. I had to be reminded of where I knew him from and we talked for several minutes. I am very sorry for your loss.

John was my best friend throughout our early childhood and teenage years. We played baseball, football, and basketball together, always on the same team, inseperable. We both became Yankee fans in 1961. I caught the first glimpse of his skills at billiards at the Devon Club in Luke, Md., just across the river from our hometown of Beryl, WV. Unfortunately, John and I went in different directions after high school in 1968 with him moving to Aberdeen for work, and me joining the Marines. We saw each other on occasion when he and Nancy travelled back home for a visit, and during our 1993 high school reunion. During these past few years we talked over the phone, planning to get together again as soon as he and Nancy could travel. He was like a brother and I will miss him dearly. God Bless his family.
