June M. Swallows

June M. Swallows, age 81, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on July 30, 2013, at Good Samaritan Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Ipswich, England she was the daughter of Herbert George and Florence Haill of Ipswich, England, and the wife of the late Talmadge Swallows. She met and married her husband Talmadge who was serving in the US Army and they voyaged to the United States, where she was a homemaker and raised her children. She is survived by her children, Dale Swallows and wife Cassie of Nottingham, PA, Linda Bennett and husband Barry of Aberdeen, MD, Larry Swallows of Abingdon, MD, and Roger Swallows of Aberdeen, MD. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Nathanial, Erin, Corinne, Jennifer, Ron, Katie, Jerry, Jessica, Erica, Derrick, Ben, Michael, Stephen, Andrew and Emily, great grand children, Joshua and Hayden, many relatives in England and two sisters-in-law, Ollie Decker of Ohio, Bonnie Fernandez of Arizona, and brothers-in-law, Bradley Swallows and Leo Swallows of Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. June enjoyed her time with her family, especially with her grandchildren, watching TV, yard sales, gardening and sharing carrots with the neighbors horses. Pallbearers will be John Corder and her grandsons, Ron, Derrick, Andrew, Ben, and Stephen. A viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 on August 1, 2013 at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home where funeral services will be held on Friday, August 2 at 10:00am. A private interment will be in Bel Air Memorial Gardens on August 2, 2013. Contributions in June's memory can be made to the Army Emergency Relief Fund, 200 Stovall Street, Alexandria, VA 22322.
