Our friendship with Miss Pauline & Gus was a family affair:) For a number of years we enjoyed family vacations together in Ocean City and we still joke about the year "We survived the Sea Watch fire!" I called my mother & Pauline "Laverne & Shirley" from the show Happy Days because together they were like them.......mischievous, fun-loving and loyal. Sherm & I were fortunate to celebrate Pauline's 90th birthday with her and her loving family. She didn't miss a beat when they brought out the big birthday cake with candles and she quipped, "O.K. Here's mine, where's yours?" I laughed and laughed because this was soooooo Pauline! God Bless Her. She will be missed here on this earth, but Sherm & I are looking forward to taking part in sending her into her next life tomorrow. In thought & prayer, Sandy & Sherm Lupold

Dear Family, I am saddened to hear that Pauline passed away. I came to know Pauline as relatively new and wet-behind the ears, so to speak, BRL employee in 1985, when I was detailed for a one year stint to the BRL "front office" to work at the behest of Pauline's boss and mine, the lab Director, Dr. Eichelberger. I was a bit overwhelmed and felt outside my strictly science comfort zone in that higher profile, upper-management immersion. Pauline was absolutely wonderful in mentoring and advising me on protocol and policy of the office and my position, and just in general being concerned about me and my young family at the time. I remember her so fondly and wish I could have chatted with her again, but such is how we lose track of those around us. Again, my condolences. - Mark Bundy

Pauline will be fondly remembered by many of us from BRL. She was the unfailing watchdog of Dr. Eichelberger, and kept us all on our toes.
